The app came alive around three pm. I’d been using the mock phone already in case of the high possibility that the device is being monitored. If it sat for days untouched, anyone paying attention could notice the lack of activity and boot me from the site—not likely, but possible. It was during some mindless scrolling when the phone did something interesting… if not alarming.

A message came through. It’s time to Go-get ‘em! The screen turned a hazy green as if the app was taking over the device—I didn’t even have the app open—It opened itself! The countdown commenced from three to one, and the traffic light shown bright. Your first challenge begins this afternoon! Here are your goals for tonight:

Walk from your apartment on Worth Street, east to Fulton Street Station. Take the A-train north to 14th Street, where you’ll find a café called Flora. Stop in and order a coffee. You must make contact with at least two people (other than your barista.)

Get back on the A-train at 14th Street and ride north to 42nd Street. We have reserved a discounted show at Madam Tissue’s House of Wax. Take the VIP tour, (50 minutes long.)

Optional: Hungry? Eat now at The Capricorn Bar and Grille. If someone engages you, engage them back! Don’t feel pressured to leave with anyone, but be open and conversational. This is the whole idea! Not hungry? Take the northbound C-Train to 86th Street, Central Park West, and finish the night off with a walk down to Columbus Circle, where you can cab or train it home.
